01 手放す PUT IT DOWN

スマホを見ている間、相手はあなたを「不在」だと感じている

食事中にスマホへ目をやる行為には、名前がついている。「ファビング（phubbing）」と呼ばれる現象だ。研究では、パートナーがスマホに気を取られる頻度が高いほど、関係の満足度が下がる傾向がはっきりと確認されている。相手からすれば、体はそこにあっても、心はそこにない——そう感じてしまうわけだ。

逆に言えば、スマホをしまうという小さな行動だけで、相手に「大切にされている」という安心感を与えられる。安心感は信頼を生み、信頼は距離を縮める。夜の時間を楽しめるかどうかは、実はこの積み重ねから始まっている。

Roberts & David（2016年）の調査では、パートナーのスマホ利用頻度が高いカップルほど、関係満足度・人生満足度ともに低下するという結果が示されている。

テーブルの上に置くだけでも視界に入る。バッグやポケットにしまうことで、意識そのものが相手へ向く。

02 見つめる EYE CONTACT

視線を合わせるだけで、脳内には「つながりのホルモン」が流れる

アメリカで行われた古典的な実験がある。見知らぬ男女に2分間、ただ互いの目を見つめ合ってもらったところ、実験後に「相手への好意や親密さが高まった」と答えた人が多かったという結果だ。視線を合わせる行為は、脳にとって「この相手は安全で、信頼できる」という合図として働く。

この時に分泌されるのがオキシトシン——親密さや安心感に関わるホルモンだ。オキシトシンが高まった状態は、緊張をほどき、自然な自信を引き出す土台になる。目を見て話す男は、それだけで「余裕のある男」に見えるのは、決して気のせいではない。

いきなり長く見つめる必要はない。会話の要所で3〜5秒、まっすぐ相手の目を見るだけで十分だ。不自然な凝視より、自然な間の中での視線の方が伝わる。
03 聞き切る DEEP LISTENING

話を最後まで聞ける男は、相手の緊張を解く
